February Birthday Parties - Part I

Momma Post: Ruby's friends' Bryan and Max K. from Childroots both had birthday parties this past month. Ruby has been in the same classroom with both Bryan (red head blowing out the candle) and Max K. (there's a Max E. in Ruby's class, too), since she was four months old. Bryan was Ruby's first special friend, although lately she's spending more time with the girls in her classroom.

Both these events were for the whole family. Bryan's parents reserved an area at the Airplay Cafe on E. Burnside. The kids played on a stage, danced to music, and played instruments. Willa was pretty cute shaking her booty.

The following weekend Max K.'s family hosted a pirate themed party (see next post for photos). Max K.'s mom Katy creatively made capes for the kids to go along with the pirate hats. Ruby chose a Dora cape and it's been fabulous for her to continue to play with at home.

Ruby can generally be a little shy during large social situations at first, but does tend to warm up with small groups, very similar to her parents. Willa is curious and likes to be more independent when checking out what the big kids are doing.

Both parties were scheduled at 11:00am, which allowed us to still fit is an afternoon naps for the girls. All the excitement definitely produced two tired girls.
