Return of the Clackamas County Fair

Daddy Post: It's hard to believe that a year has already passed since our trip to the fair last year. It's even harder to believe how much Ruby has grown since then. You can look for yourself at our post this time last year. This year we went with our good friends the Fitzpatricks. Their daughter Izzy was a good example for Ruby when it comes to asking good questions and knowing how to dance. As usual the pigs were a big hit as long as they weren't snorting in Ruby's face with a drooly snout. Some of Ruby's new tricks are making scary faces and stalking the living room while wearing mom or dad's shoes.

Messing with Texas

Daddy Post: Well we're a week removed from our trip to Texas where we were able to visit friends and family for Steve and Carrie's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and we wish them the very best for the future. We're already looking forward to visiting again in the future when Ruby and Addy are able to play together more. Other highlights included a trip to the Alamo and North America's #1 waterpark "The Schlitterbahn". Lowlights included Ruby getting a nasty fever that she's now over and nearly getting our asses kicked by a bunch of Texas jerkies as a result of Mark and Father's pettiness regarding "cutsies" after a long day of tubing. Better directing that toward some Texas jerks than each other I suppose. Fortunately, uncle Darryl has the "jerky" in our family covered (see picture below). That incident aside it was a great trip.

Mid Summer Medley

Momma Post:

A little bit of this and that best described activities over the first weekend in August. Dad and Janet joined us at the annual Fremont Fest and parade for a belated birthday celebration for Janet. Later we attended our dear friends Che and Wendi's baby shower, hosted by the Pace's in their newly landscaped backyard. Ruby is pictured above with Stella, where they're battling for rides around the lawn. Ruby and I are also pictured with Kristin and daughter Karen. On Sunday, in preparation for Steve and Carrie's wedding in Texas, Ruby received her first hair cut. Ruby was very quiet while being groomed. Although it was hard for me to watch a few of her baby curls fall to the floor, the end result was a hairdo that is easier to style and locks that look much thicker. Reminds me of Grandma Myrtle stories of when she styled Matt's hair into the infamous bowl cut.

New words: arm, knee, bumblebee, broccoli, and bowl.
