Picking a Winner

Daddy Post: Not too much to post lately. Grandpa Zor made his way to town and we had dinner at the new "Mark Lindsay's Rock & Roll Cafe" here in hollywood. Good times overall. Ruby has been enjoying her gymnastics class and is slowly becoming more comfortable playing with others. Marty went to the doctor today and evidently her belly is already measure to term which means that we will be going back in next week and possibly delivering a littler early. We'll keep you posted. We're anxious for Ruby's little sister to get here if not for anything else that Ruby could use the company.

Monkey Business

Daddy Post:
Another trip down to Medford will likely be our last for a while or at least some time after Ruby's little sister is born. Doyle, Jack, Martha, and the rest of the family are doing well. We celebrated Grandma Martha's birthday on Friday. We also visited with Uncle John, Mary Jo, Aunt Joan and Uncle Tom. Ruby had a great time, but has decided that the 4.5-5 hour drive is about 2 hours more than she prefers. We also had a great time watching the Ducks destroy the Michigan Wolverines with our good friends the Vanderhoofs.

Marty has moved her flex day from Thursdays to Mondays which coincides well with Ruby's new gymnastics class. Today was her first day with the rings and the trampoline being her favorite. Her other "favorite" activity at the gym seems to be pushing the other kids off of the activities that she has declared as "MINE!" (hers). Her sister will do her well in learning how to share. Additional "benefits" of the class included Ruby breaking free at Costco and claiming refuge within a large rack of shirts. Once in there she found a bar much like the one from class where she was able to hang and swing like a monkey laughing while dad pleaded for her to come out. Awesome.

Ducks, Cougars, and Other Animals

Daddy Post: Finally football season has returned. We took Ruby down for the Duck season opener where they beat the Houston Cougars by a good 21 points, but the game was unfortunately much closer than the score would indicate. Ruby was a sport all things considered, but we had to head out near the end of the 3rd quarter because she had run out of school spirit. Today was labor day and we headed off to the zoo where we were the first one's in line (literally) at 8:00AM. Ruby had a great time with the animals and felt right at home. By the time the day ended it felt like we had put in a bit of overtime handling Ruby for the day. So much for the R & R. Congratulations to John and Wajma on the pending marriage. We're sorry we missed the big engagement party (and Mark's show) this weekend, but we're looking forward to the wedding.

Elysa's 2nd Birthday

Momma Post: Hard to believe Ruby's friend Elysa turned two last week. Elysa is shown with Ruby in the picture on the slide. Elysa's mom Marta was one of my friends, along with Kara and Beth, that I was able to enjoy being pregnant at the same time with when expecting Ruby. We had the pleasure of relaxed celebration in Kara and Jason's backyard. Ruby tried her best to share Conner's cool toys, the slide and 80's style van, with the other kids Carson, Elysa, Conner and Colin.
