Manzanita Family Retreat

Daddy Post: This is a little dated, but here are some pictures from our post-christmas family trip to Manzanita. A great trip overall with some much needed family time. The weather even cooperated for the most part (considering that it was December on the Oregon coast). The main highlight was celebrating mom's (grandma's) 60th birthday. The girls loved having their princess action figures baked into cakes as well as an opportunity to dress up like princesses themselves. Mark and Cindy did a great job providing the decor. Another highlight was at the Seaside aquarium where the local octopus put on a show by trying to escape from its confines. Ruby was simultaneously intrigued and concerned as demonstrated in the picture. Looking over our pictures I'm disappointed that I didn't get any of Cindy and Wajma. :(

Congrats are in order for the really big highlight of the holidays which is that the family will be growing by one this year as John and Wajma will be welcoming their first child this August. They're going to be amazing parents and I'll try to uphold my end of the bargain by being the "cool" uncle.
