Daddy Post: So last Friday we had the misfortune of a negligent babysitter who failed to mention to us that she was sick and unable to babysit that evening. Keep in mind we found this out only after I contacted her to see where she was 5 min. after she was supposed to be there. Lame indeed, but we managed to replace our date night with a family trip to the 99W Drive-In down in Newburg for a showing of Star Trek. Overall, the girls were manageable and enjoyed the experience aside from the long wait for it to actually get dark so the movie could start. The trip brought back memories of my parents taking my brothers and I to the drive in when we were younger. Like my parents I managed to bring in a few cold PBRs to relax and watch the movie. Unlike my parents, I didn't provide sips to the kids in the back seat inadvertently getting them drunk. Oh, how times have changed.
Star Trek was awesome btw especially when viewed on a perfect summer night under the stars and a vibrant moon. We even saw a shooting star. Pretty special memories I think.
