Daddy Post: Ok, so we're a bit behind in our posts and Christmas seems like a year ago but here is a brief recap of our morning at home with just us and the girls. We kept it pretty simple with the gifts. After waking the girls and doing some brief staging we brought them into the living room. Firstly, we showed Ruby that Santa and his reindeer had been there since the cookies were gone as were the carrots we left out. I never really considered myself to be one promoting the idea of Santa Claus, but I figure it works simply because I can use it as a threat to the girls when they're misbehaving. Plus, it is a test to start improving the girls' critical thinking skills.
Anyhow, Ruby scored some fairy wings and Candyland. The fairy wings have been a huge hit as Ruby wears them damn near daily with her tiera and ballet slippers. Willa scored a new play table from IKEA as well as some new toys to play with (i.e. Russian stacker). All in all we had a great time staying local this year as it was nice building on our own Christmas traditions.
