Baby don't you cry gonna make a pie,...

Momma Post: Life has been busy with appointments, work, shuttling kids to daycare or play dates. But, occasionally we'll have a moment that is so special that I'm almost afraid to blink. So instead I grab the camera and pray for a photo that captures how blessed I feel. Ruby, above, helped roll her first pie crust, while making her great-great-grandmother Pauline's Washington Nut Pie recipe. I believe the apron she's wearing is from either her great-grandma Martha or Dorothy...I'll have to investigate. While pregnant with Willa, the movie "The Waitress" came out and after seeing the movie this song kept haunting me and was running through my head during my afternoon pie making with Ruby.

Baby Don't You Cry (The Pie Song) Lets Make a Pie
lyrics by Quincy Coleman

When the world is gray and bleak
Baby don't you cry
I will give you every bit of love that is in my heart
I will bake it up... in a simple little pie

Baby don't you cry gonna make a pie
Gonna make a pie with a heart in the middle
Baby don't be blue
Gonna make for you
Gonna make a pie with a heart in the middle
Gonna make a pie from heaven above
gonna be filled with strawberry love

Baby don't you cry
Gonna make a pie
Hold you forever in the middle of my heart

Baby heres the sun
Baby heres the sky
Baby I'm the light and I'm your shelter
Baby you are mine
I could freeze the time

Keep you in my kitchen with me forever
Gonna be a pie from the heaven above
Gonna be filled with strawberry love

Baby don't you cry
Gonna make a pie
Hold you forever in the middle of my heart.

Gonna bake a pie from the heaven above
Gonna be filled with butterscotch love

Gonna be a pie from the heaven above
Gonna be filled with banana cream love

Baby don't you cry
Gonna make a pie

Hold you forever
Hold you forever
Hold you forever in th middle of my heart.

Marty,
I have been wondering about this song since Amelie was born. I remembered the song from the movie and loved it! Thank you for posting the words. The Stockton family is looking great and i am so happy that we will see you all soon.
